Ye Li expands what’s possible for dancers and audiences in the Pacific Northwest.
As the co-founder and Executive Director of the Oregon International Ballet Academy (OIBA) and Rehearsal Director of OBT2, Oregon Ballet Theatre’s Junior company, Li offers a rare combination of skills and experience in his directing work.
With a history of success coupled with passion, perspective, style, and sensitivity, Li excels at amplifying students’ strengths and authenticity. His individualized attention creates space in which their spirits and best selves shine, and the results are palpable onstage.

About
OBT2 participants perform and rehearse classical and contemporary choreography from the repertoire of Oregon Ballet Theatre. Performances include outreach presentations at school and community centers, appearances at special events, and stand-alone OBT2 performances. Dancers understudy and perform company roles throughout the season in ballets such as George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and other large scale productions, and the year culminates in the Annual School Performance at the Newmark Theatre.

OIBA is a non-profit that serves the community of Oregon by providing year-round, high caliber dance instruction and professional performance opportunity to students of all ages, experience levels, backgrounds, and economic diversity. At once a world class institution and a warm international family, OIBA produces original, professional performances with live music annually, including classical ballet and contemporary work. Since the school founded in 2015, OIBA trained students have won positions in The School of American Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet Academy, San Francisco Ballet School, Ballet West Academy, Kirov Academy of Ballet, The School of Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre.
