The Daylight Within

Li’s visionary The Daylight Within recently won 2nd place at the 2022 Palm Desert Choreography Festival! With dancers Xuan Cheng, Brian Simcoe and Christopher Kaiser (pictured left) and music by Max Richter, the piece reflects the situation of quarantined artists who felt trapped, lonely, and isolated during the Covid-19 pandemic, but still found a way to create and cultivate hope and light within. The work previously earned Li a spot as a Division 1 finalist in the canceled 2021 Festival.
